Morrisons on the UK grocery market
The company holds the smallest market share of the so called ‘big four’ leading companies on the British grocery market. With slightly over ten percent market share at the beginning of 2020 the company outclassed Aldi by over two percent but lagged almost five percent behind Asda. In like-for-like sales, the company achieved almost five percent growth during 2018/19. Profits and revenues are both up, but whether or not these positive developments are enough to keep Morrisons among the top four remains to be seen.
